Asahi Castle

(Overview)
The Asahi Castle Ruins are located on the northwestern summit of Ashinokubo in Komi, Asahi Village. It is divided into a large castle and a small castle. The large castle is located on a small flat ridge, 1,010 meters above sea level and 190 meters relative to Komi.Small castle is located on a slightly gentle slope above the small ridge that overhangs to the north of Hurukawaji Temple. The main guo of the large castle is 12m x 20m, and there are earthworks around it.It is difficult to imagine the original shape because it has been moved considerably by charcoal grilling in posterity. This mountain castle has only one habitable guo, and it is considered to be a large castle fort because it is as small as 100 tsubo.Probably it was the role of protecting Takei Castle from the direction of Ooike, Kosaka, Takeda, and Hata at the foot of Mt.Nishiyama.
