For the first overseas marathon, I decided to run the classic Honolulu Marathon.Therefore, I made a reservation for JOY World Honolulu Marathon Tour '96 Maui V Course 7 days in Kinki Nippon Tourist.Depart for Honolulu by air on United Airlines flight UA-824 departing from Kansai Airport at 19:00.The time difference of Hawaii is 19 hours late, so I arrived at 7:15 on the day.We receive a fragrant flower lei service of Hawaiian hospitality at the airport.Guided by a tour conductor, we will go sightseeing in Honolulu and preview the marathon course.Pass through the city of Honolulu and experience the ultramarine blue sea from the Nuuanu Pali Observatory, which is famous for its strong winds.From there, we view to Kailua Town and admire the long, pure white sandy beaches of Koko Head Sandy Beach Park.Get off at a place overlooking Hanauma Bay while looking at the Harona Sakiyama Blowhole.From there, take a look at Kapiolani Park in Marathon goal and have a wellcome lunch at the restaurant.In the afternoon, we spend a relaxing time at Ala Moana Hotel, the inn from tonight.

Honolulu Marathon has the largest number of Japanese participants in overseas marathons.Ala Moana Park is the starting point, and Kapiolani Park is the goal. It is an almost flat course that runs through the Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head, runs the seaside while watching Maunalua Bay, and turns back in the suburbs of Hawaii Kai.I start Ala Moana Park at 5 o'clock in the dark, but it's a pleasant running while watching the beautiful Hawaiian sea, which is gradually getting brighter.Since there is no time limit, I see a runner walking from the beginning.After about 26km, turn around and just run along the coastline.After enduring the difficult time from about 30km, I arrived at Kapiolani Park, the goal point.

From today, Hawaii tourism will start.I see many people dragging their feet in the city.We apply for a quick optional tour today. At the Polynesia Culture Center on the back of Oahu, you will experience the traditional culture of Hawaii and tour each village (Hawaii, Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, New Zealand, Tahitian) with a large Canoe.Next, visit the Doll Plantation in the central part of Oaf.This is a doll pineapple plantation.Enjoy the taste and scenery of pineapple for a while, and head for Pearl Harbor.The Pearl Harbor National Memorial, which Japanese people don't want to see much, is seen from the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, and the tour of the day ends today.

Fly to Maui on Aloha Airlines AQ-034 flight departing from Honolulu Airport at 9am. Arriving at Maui at 9:35, we will immediately depart for a half-day sightseeing tour of the island.Visit the Iao Valley in central West Maui, surrounded by unique mountains.Here, Iao Needle, which looks like an eboshi, is a tourist spot.From there, we will stop at Rahania, a resort on the southeastern coast of Maui, and head for the Royal Lahia Resort at the inn Kaanapali tonight.Rahania seems to have been the capital of Hawaii until the transfer of capital to Honolulu. It seems to have prospered as a whaling base, but now it is crowded as a historic site sightseeing and resort area at that time.Take a commemorative photo with the biggest vanine tree.We enjoy a 25-minute sightseeing train journey from Lahaina to Kaanapali on the Sugar Cane Train.This train is said to have been a Remodeling of the steam locomotive used to transport sugar cane.The Royal Rahia Resort has a vast site where you can enjoy swimming in the azure sea and the pure white beach.It was December, but I was able to swim comfortably.

Today, I will go sightseeing in Haleakala on an optional tour.From the side of the visitor center (2987m), overlook the inside of the crater and go up to the highest point of Haleakala, Red Hill (3055m).I can't imagine that there is such a vast crater on the island.On the return trip, enjoy the final Haleakala large panorama from the Karahaku observatory and descend toward the hotel.I had some time at the hotel, so I went jogging while enjoying the scenery to the vicinity of Pukory station on the sugar cane train.We enjoy our last Hawaiian dinner at the Luau Dinner near the hotel tonight.Luausho is a traditional Hawaiian celebration feast, where you can enjoy traditional food, butoh and music.
