Weeping cherry blossoms on of Choumyouji Temple


 The cherry blossoms are in front of the main hall of Choumyouji Temple, and are estimated to be about 400 years old.Choumyouji Temple was opened in Kai Province in 1369(Ouan 2).After moving to Inoue Village in 1414(Ouei 21), he moved to this place in 1597(Keichou 2).The cherry blossoms are thought to have been planted with the construction of the temple.The main hall and the cherry blossoms are in perfect harmony with the mountains in the back.
The cherry blossoms are originally weeping cherry blossoms, and have branches as if a Kara umbrella is spreading.Several descendants of cherry blossoms grow around the area, and during the cherry blossom season, they compete to make the precincts gorgeous.The trunk circumference is about 3.5 meters and the tree height is about 7.5 meters.(Diverted from Suzaka City Tourism Association website)
