Takato Castle Ruins ParkMap

In the past, the horses were covered with cherry blossoms and hidden in the cherry blossom riding grounds of the Takato domain. In 1853(Meiji 8) era, the cherry blossoms in the park began when the cherry blossoms of Baba were transplanted to the castle ruins in an attempt to revive the Takato castle ruins that had been left rough by the clan lords. The cherry blossoms in Takato are Takatookohiganzakura, which are slightly smaller than Someiyoshino and have reddish flowers. There are about 1,500 cherry trees in the park, and it has been called "The best cherry blossoms in Japan" since ancient times. It is famous all over the country and has been selected as one of the "100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots". The tree forest is a "natural monument of the prefecture".When it is in full bloom, the entire park is dyed light red, and you can enjoy cherry blossoms that are a bit different from the white Someiyoshino cherry tree. The best time to see it is in mid April, and during the flower season when the castle ruins park is dyed pink, about 250,000 tourists visit.(Diverted from Ina City Tourism Association website)
