- Weeping cherry blossoms on Kourinji Temple
Kourinji is an ancient temple of the Kouyasan Shingon sect in Asahi Village, Higashichikuma District. According to folklore, Gyouki opened an "old Yakushi" in the Nara period, and Yoshinaka Kiso was involved in "Chuukou".On the south side of the main hall, there is a thatched-roof Yakushidou, which is designated as a prefectural treasure in Nagano Prefecture. The appearance of the temple against the backdrop of weeping cherry blossoms and satoyama, which is said to be 400 years old, creates an indescribable and peaceful atmosphere.(Diverted from Shinshu Sakura travelogue HP)
